Professional Book Formatting
Formatting services are intended for completed, fully edited manuscripts. Each package includes clean, consistent styling, a clickable table of contents when applicable, and two rounds of formatting revisions.

Books longer than 200 pages, image-heavy interiors, poetry, workbooks, children’s books, cookbooks, and other complex layouts require a custom quote.
Rush delivery begins at $20 and is subject to availability.
Managed Publishing with CallieMax
Managed Publishing is designed for authors who want to focus on writing without handling every technical and administrative part of publication.
Under this arrangement, the author retains ownership of the manuscript and copyright while CallieMax Publishing manages the book through its publishing accounts.
Publishing Setup | Starting at $150
The final setup price depends on the number of formats, manuscript length, file condition, and level of support required.
Publishing setup may include:
- Manuscript and cover file review
- Ebook, paperback, or hardcover setup
- KDP title creation and upload
- Book description, keywords, categories, and metadata entry
- Pricing and territory setup
- Digital and print preview review
- File-error troubleshooting
- Proof-copy coordination
- Publication support through final approval
Formatting is included only when stated in the final proposal. Editing, custom cover design, ISBN purchases, proof copies, author copies, advertising, and external distribution fees may require separate charges.
Ongoing Publishing Administration
When a title remains under CallieMax Publishing’s account, CallieMax manages its listing, reporting, and royalty administration.
The author receives 90% of net royalties, and CallieMax retains 10% of net royalties as its publishing administration fee.
Net royalties are the amount CallieMax actually receives from the retailer after printing costs, delivery fees, refunds, returns, taxes withheld by the platform, and other retailer deductions.
Ongoing administration includes:
- Sales and royalty tracking
- Author royalty statements
- Royalty distribution
- Minor price and metadata updates
- Basic listing maintenance
- Coordination of author-copy orders
- Recordkeeping for each published title
Royalty payments are issued quarterly or once the author’s payable balance reaches $25. A different payment schedule may be established in the author’s publishing agreement.
Major manuscript replacements, new editions, cover changes, additional formats, relaunches, and substantial listing revisions are quoted separately.
The Publishing Process
1. Submit Your Project
Complete the project inquiry form and provide your manuscript details, requested formats, estimated page or word count, and desired publication timeline.
2. Receive Your Proposal
CallieMax will review the project and provide a written scope, price, estimated completion date, and list of required files.
3. Sign the Agreement
Managed Publishing clients must sign a publishing-administration agreement covering copyright, distribution rights, royalties, account management, payment schedules, and termination.
4. Begin Production
Work begins after the required payment or deposit and all final files have been received.
5. Review Your Proof
You will receive digital proofs for approval. Formatting packages include two revision rounds for correcting formatting issues.
6. Publish Your Book
Final files are delivered to formatting-only clients. Managed Publishing clients receive publication and ongoing title administration through CallieMax.
Important Information
Formatting does not include proofreading, copyediting, developmental editing, or rewriting unless those services are purchased separately.
The author must provide a final edited manuscript before formatting begins. Substantial manuscript changes submitted after formatting has started may require an additional fee.
Formatting revisions correct layout and file issues. They do not include unlimited design changes or continued manuscript revisions.
CallieMax will never ask an author to provide a personal Amazon password. Titles managed by CallieMax are published through CallieMax Publishing’s business account under a written agreement.
